Getting It In

No one can deny that Japan would be different from living in the
states. There is so much that's different but that's a good thing. We
as Americans have gotten used to a lot of things in excess. Like these
chicken wings...they sell 8 'wings' at Hotto Motto and on the menu you
think you are about to get some nice wings for 280¥. The 'wings' are
the flat split in half. Now we all know that would not go over well in
the states.

This past week has been pretty good. I've been applying for jobs,
finally. Doug got the girls cell phones. They don't know how to call
the states, which is great, but we told them how their friends can
call them. Maybe that's a little mean but let their parents worry
about the bill, especially S-girl's mom.

The girls seem to be doing a little better this week. I'm hesitant to
say anything because everytime I do, they act up the next day. They
are enjoying going on base to meet up with their friends.

I'm glad someone has friends. I suppose I'll gain some when I start
working. I realize that the majority of my friends are from work or
school. We never really stayed in one house for too long to make
friends growing up.

Yesterday we went to a Korean restaurant in our neighborhood. It was a
little expensive but very good. It was teppenyaki style but where you
cook your own food over a grill in the middle of the table. They give
you a menu and you can order any amount of the various meats and
veggies they have. It's an all you can eat, well all you can cook and
eat in 90 minutes. It was very good, in fact better than the first one
we tried before. There's a lot of different restaurants in our
neighborhood that we have to try.

We are going to the aquarium tomorrow. I'm excited because I hear it's
pretty nice. See, we do more than just eat LOL. I'm trying to spend as
much time with my husband because he's leaving for two weeks and then
after he comes back, he'll be leaving for some months. I'm going to
miss him terribly. But such is life of a military wife...
